Alia Bhatt on Online Comments About Marriage to Ranbir Kapoor: The Noise Doesn’t Reach Us

Actor Alia Bhatt has addressed the constant online scrutiny surrounding her marriage to actor Ranbir Kapoor, making it clear that social media commentary has little to no impact on their personal lives. In a candid interaction with Esquire India, Alia spoke about how she and Ranbir navigate memes, opinions and viral moments that frequently circulate about their relationship.

Reflecting on the nature of online discourse, Alia pointed out that the internet often reacts to isolated clips or fleeting expressions that lack context. According to her, these brief moments are magnified and misinterpreted, creating narratives far removed from reality. She stressed that such reactions do not reflect the depth or authenticity of their bond, which has been built over several years.

Alia emphasised that the couple remains largely unaffected by digital noise, describing it as something that simply does not enter their personal space. She explained that the public often responds to a few seconds of footage, while ignoring the years of shared experiences that define a real relationship. Having been together for over seven years, Alia said their understanding of each other far outweighs fleeting online opinions.

The actor also shared that while she and Ranbir occasionally come across memes about their marriage, they often don’t even see them. When they do, she said, the reactions are usually light-hearted rather than distressing. For Alia, the key lies in perspective — recognising that public perception is limited, while personal reality is grounded in family, stability and emotional fulfilment.

She further elaborated on how fame can distort perceptions, noting that in any gathering, only a small fraction of people truly matter in one’s life. Others may form opinions, positive or negative, but those voices rarely carry weight unless one chooses to listen. Alia said her family life remains unchanged despite constant scrutiny, and she continues to feel grateful and content with where she is in life.

On the professional front, Alia is preparing for the release of Alpha, a spy thriller produced by Aditya Chopra. The film marks Yash Raj Films’ first female-led espionage project and places Alia at the centre of a high-stakes action narrative. The movie also features Sharvari Wagh and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles and is set within the same cinematic universe as Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2.

In addition, Alia will reunite with Ranbir Kapoor on screen in Love And War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal, marking another collaboration between Alia and her Raazi co-star. Love And War is slated for release in early 2027.

Despite constant public attention on both her professional and personal life, Alia Bhatt maintains that fulfilment comes from living authentically rather than reacting to fleeting online narratives.
