Digger Final Trailer: Tom Cruise Faces a Deadly Global Disaster as the Villain

The final trailer for Digger, starring Tom Cruise as eccentric oil tycoon Digger Rockwell, has been released, giving audiences a closer look at the massive disaster at the centre of the film. Directed by Alejandro G Inarritu, the movie combines action, dark humour and satire against the backdrop of a global catastrophe.

The trailer begins with Digger at the centre of a devastating disaster connected to his drilling operation. The incident triggers a tsunami and causes widespread destruction, with the death toll reaching hundreds of thousands.

As the consequences of the disaster unfold, Digger faces intense public criticism and political pressure. He is portrayed as the person responsible for the catastrophe and is branded a villain by those around him.

However, Digger refuses to simply accept the blame. Instead, he believes that he is uniquely capable of resolving the crisis. The trailer shows him attempting to take control of the situation, even though his actions may have played a role in creating the disaster.

The film stars Tom Cruise as Digger Rockwell alongside Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jesse Plemons. Robert John Burke, Emma D’Arcy, Burn Gorman and Sophie Wilde are also part of the cast.

Digger is another major project from Alejandro G Inarritu, known for films such as Birdman and The Revenant. He has co-written the screenplay with Alexander Dinelaris, Nicols Giacobone and Sabina Berman. The story is based on a concept developed by Inarritu and Berman.

The film has been produced by Inarritu, Mary Parent, Tom Cruise and Michael Sharp. Several of Inarritu’s previous collaborators have also worked on the project, including cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki and editor Stephen Mirrione.

Dennis Gassner is the production designer, while Jacqueline West has worked on the costume design. The movie was shot entirely in VistaVision, adding to its large-scale cinematic presentation.

Digger is scheduled to release in cinemas and IMAX across India on October 2, 2026. Warner Bros Pictures will handle the film’s distribution.
