January 12 Vidudala: Venkatesh-Kalyan Ram Film Gets Sankranthi 2027 Release Date

Director Anil Ravipudi has unveiled the title of his upcoming Venkatesh Daggubati and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram starrer, January 12 Vidudala, cleverly combining the film's name with its confirmed theatrical release date of January 12, 2027.

The announcement officially places the multi-starrer in the Sankranthi 2027 box-office race. The title was revealed through a humorous promotional video featuring the film's principal cast, with Ravipudi turning the release date itself into the punchline.

Why Is the Film Called January 12 Vidudala?

The announcement video begins with the cast asking Anil Ravipudi about the film's title. When the director says, "January 12 Vidudala," the actors initially assume he is simply revealing the release date.

The joke is then clarified: January 12 Vidudala is actually the official title of the film, while January 12, 2027, is also its theatrical release date.

The promotional video also pays tribute to late filmmaker EVV Satyanarayana and references his comedy Appula Appa Rao.

The film carries the tagline "Bava Bammardi Soujanyamtho," suggesting a story centred around the relationship between brothers-in-law. Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram are expected to play characters connected through this family dynamic.

Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram Come Together for the First Time

January 12 Vidudala marks the first on-screen collaboration between Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram.

For Venkatesh, the project marks another collaboration with Anil Ravipudi after successful films including F2, F3 and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. He also appeared in an extended cameo in Ravipudi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, released in January 2026.

Kalyan Ram, meanwhile, reunites with Ravipudi more than a decade after Pataas in 2015, which marked the director's debut.

Keerthy Suresh and Krithi Shetty Join the Cast

The film also stars Keerthy Suresh and Krithi Shetty as the leading actresses, opposite Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram, respectively.

The music is being composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

The project is produced by Sahu Garapati under the Shine Screens banner and presented by Suresh Productions and Smt Archana in association with Zee Studios.

January 12 Vidudala Joins Sankranthi 2027 Race

The unusual title continues Anil Ravipudi's tradition of connecting his films with the Sankranthi festive season.

His 2025 film Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, starring Venkatesh, emerged as a major commercial success. Ravipudi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, featuring Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh, followed in January 2026.

With January 12 Vidudala, Ravipudi is once again targeting the lucrative Sankranthi box office window—this time with a title that leaves audiences with no doubt about when the film is arriving.
