NEET-PG 2026: NBEMS Forms 3-Member Panel to Probe Jaipur Power Failure

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has formed a three-member committee to investigate the power failure that disrupted the NEET-PG 2026 examination at two examination centres in Sitapura, Jaipur.

The disruption occurred at iON Digital Zone centres, where candidates were unable to complete the examination because of an internal power supply failure.

THREE-MEMBER PANEL TO PROBE POWER FAILURE

The committee will investigate the circumstances surrounding the disruption and determine the reasons behind the power failure.

The three-member panel includes a senior Rajasthan government official, a joint secretary-level officer from the Union Health Ministry and a senior engineering official from the Central Electricity Authority.

The committee has been asked to examine the incident and submit its report within the stipulated timeframe.

RE-EXAM FOR 2,445 CANDIDATES

Following the disruption, NBEMS announced that 2,445 candidates affected at the two Jaipur centres will have to appear for the NEET-PG examination again.

The re-examination will be held on September 5 at 3 pm in Jaipur. NBEMS said the decision was taken to ensure that all affected candidates receive a fair and equitable opportunity to appear for the examination.

The examination body also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the disruption.

PIB FACT CHECKS PAPER LEAK CLAIMS

The incident also triggered speculation on social media about an alleged NEET-PG question paper leak in Jaipur.

However, PIB Fact Check described these claims as misleading and clarified that there had been no question paper leak during the examination.

According to the PIB, the disruption was caused by internal power supply issues at the iON Digital Zone Sitapura centres.

The affected candidates will therefore take the examination again on September 5, while the NBEMS committee investigates the circumstances behind the power failure.
