NEET PG 2026: PIB Debunks Jaipur Paper Leak Claims, Re-Exam on September 5

The Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check unit has dismissed social media claims that the NEET-PG 2026 question paper was leaked at an examination centre in Jaipur, calling the allegations misleading.

PIB Fact Check clarified that there was no question paper leak and said the disruption at the affected centres was caused by internal power supply issues.

POWER FAILURE DISRUPTS NEET-PG EXAM

The NEET-PG 2026 examination at the iON Digital Zone iDZ centres in Sitapura, Jaipur, was disrupted on August 30 after repeated power failures affected the computer-based test.

The examination was scheduled from 9 am to noon. Candidates reported problems with logging in, accessing questions and continuing the test because of the technical disruptions.

Some candidates alleged that power failures occurred repeatedly at intervals of around 10 to 15 minutes. After the three-hour examination window ended, students gathered outside the centre and protested over the disruption.

NBEMS ANNOUNCES RE-EXAMINATION

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) subsequently announced a fresh examination for candidates affected by the power failures.

The re-examination will be conducted on September 5 for candidates at test centres 41,682 and 41,683 at iON Digital Zone iDZ, Sitapura.

NBEMS said the examination could not be completed because of internal power supply issues and apologised to the affected candidates.

PIB DEBUNKS PAPER LEAK CLAIM

The disruption led to social media speculation that the NEET-PG question paper had been leaked in Jaipur.

PIB Fact Check rejected the allegation, stating that there had been no question paper leak during the NEET-PG examination and that the technical disruption was due to internal power supply problems at the Sitapura centres.

NEET-PG 2026 CONDUCTED NATIONWIDE

The NEET-PG 2026 examination was conducted across India on August 30 for 2,73,096 registered candidates at 1,111 centres in 339 cities across all 36 states and Union Territories.

A total of 2,65,980 candidates appeared, with approximately 2,63,535 candidates successfully completing the examination.

The affected Jaipur candidates will now get another opportunity to take the examination on September 5.
