NTA Debars NEET UG Aspirant for 2 Years, Bars 2027 Attempt

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has debarred Aditya Motegaonkar from appearing in the NEET UG examination for two years in connection with the 2026 paper leak case. His NEET UG 2026 result has been withheld, and he has been declared ineligible to appear for the 2027 examination, according to an NTA communication dated September 19.

Aditya is the son of Latur-based coaching centre owner Shivraj Motegaonkar, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the alleged paper leak. According to the investigation, Shivraj allegedly paid Rs 5 lakh to obtain chemistry questions from P V Kulkarni, who was associated with the NTA question-setting process. Investigators also alleged that Aditya attended Kulkarni’s coaching classes where the questions were provided.

Following a NEET UG retest conducted on June 21, the NTA withheld Aditya’s result and sought his explanation over the alleged irregularities. He denied using unfair means and questioned why his result from the retest had also been withheld.

The NTA had cancelled the May 3 NEET UG examination following allegations of a paper leak and subsequently conducted a retest. The latest action means Aditya’s 2026 result will remain withheld and he will not be eligible to appear for NEET UG 2027.

The CBI has also submitted its final report before a designated fast-track court in Delhi handling cases related to paper leaks and alleged unfair means in public examinations.
