The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) has announced cash rewards to honour India’s Women’s World Cup-winning stars, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and all-rounder Amanjot Kaur, following India’s historic triumph in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.
The board also recognized Munish Bali, India’s fielding coach from Punjab, for his crucial role in the team’s success.
According to the PCA’s announcement, Harmanpreet Kaur and Amanjot Kaur will each receive Rs 11 lakh, while Munish Bali will be presented with Rs 5 lakh.
A special felicitation ceremony will soon be held to honour the trio for their exceptional contributions to India’s maiden Women’s ODI World Cup title.
Harmanpreet Kaur, hailing from Moga, Punjab, led the Indian team with determination and tactical brilliance, steering the side to its first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup win.
Her leadership during crucial knockout matches and her composure under pressure were widely praised by fans and cricketing experts alike.
A viral clip from the post-final celebration showed Harmanpreet sharing an emotional moment with her father, which captured hearts across the country and symbolized the pride of Indian women’s cricket.
Amanjot Kaur, the young all-rounder from Punjab, played a pivotal role throughout the tournament, contributing with both bat and ball. Her consistency, especially in the middle order, added stability to India’s lineup.
Fielding coach Munish Bali was also acknowledged for his strategic inputs and efforts in strengthening India’s fielding unit, which was one of the sharpest in the competition.
PCA President Amarjit Singh Mehta and Honorary Secretary (Officiating) Siddhant Sharma congratulated the three Punjab representatives, stating that their achievements had brought immense pride to both the state and the nation.
“This World Cup victory is a moment of immense pride for the entire country, and we at PCA are especially delighted that key members of this historic win hail from Punjab,” said Mehta.
“Their hard work and performances have brought great glory to our state and Indian cricket as a whole.”
The PCA’s announcement comes soon after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared a Rs 51 crore cash reward for the entire World Cup-winning squad and support staff.
The dual recognition from the national and state boards underscores the impact of women’s cricket’s growing success in India and the increasing acknowledgment of regional talent contributing to the national side.
Punjab’s contribution to India’s Women’s World Cup 2025 victory stands as a proud moment in the state’s cricketing history.
Through the Rs 11 lakh awards to Harmanpreet Kaur and Amanjot Kaur, and Rs 5 lakh to Munish Bali, the Punjab Cricket Association has reinforced its commitment to honouring excellence and inspiring the next generation of cricketers.
