Youth Congress Leader Arrested Over Shirtless Protest at AI Summit

Delhi Police have arrested another individual in connection with the shirtless protest staged during the India AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The accused, identified as Jitendra Yadav, was detained in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and is believed to be associated with the Youth Congress.

He was produced before a court and remanded to two days of police custody for further interrogation.

Fifth Arrest in Ongoing Investigation

Yadav’s arrest marks the fifth detention linked to the protest incident. Earlier, four Youth Congress members were arrested after a group of activists allegedly entered the summit venue and staged a dramatic protest.

Police have intensified their investigation, conducting raids across Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to trace additional suspects and gather evidence.

Evidence Seized During Investigation

Authorities recovered a vehicle believed to be linked to the protest. During the search, officers allegedly found T-shirts and posters carrying political slogans, which are suspected to have been used during the demonstration.

Investigators are also examining the source of the printed materials and have conducted searches at printing facilities connected to the case.

Police Probe Larger Conspiracy Angle

Delhi Police told the court the protest may have been part of a larger coordinated plan. Officials are investigating funding sources behind the demonstration and identifying individuals or groups that may have financed logistics and materials.

Earlier, a court denied bail to arrested protesters and granted police custody for further questioning.

Political Reactions Intensify

The protest has triggered political debate. Critics described the demonstration as an attempt to disrupt an international forum, while opposition leaders defended it as an expression of democratic dissent.

The incident has also sparked discussion on the boundaries between protest rights and security protocols at high-profile global events.

Investigation Continues

The Special Cell and Crime Branch are continuing coordinated operations to identify remaining suspects and determine the full extent of the alleged planning behind the protest.

Authorities said further developments are expected as the investigation progresses.
