Amazon has introduced three Alexa tablets with Android support, AI features and updated reading tools.

Amazon Alexa tablets have entered the Android tablet market with three new models designed for entertainment, productivity and everyday use. The lineup includes the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Alexa Tablet 11 and Alexa Tablet 8, with all three featuring Alexa+ and native Google Play Store support.

The launch marks a shift from Amazon’s earlier Fire tablets, which ran on its own Fire OS and offered a more restricted app catalogue. The new devices aim to combine broader Android app access with Amazon’s existing ecosystem of services, including Kindle reading and Alexa-powered assistance.

Amazon Alexa Tablets: Specifications and Features

Alexa Tablet 12 Pro

The premium model features a 12-inch display with 280 pixels per inch, a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Buyers can choose a standard screen or a Nanomatte version designed to reduce glare.

The tablet uses a 4nm octa-core processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM. Other features include quad Dolby Atmos speakers, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and up to 16 hours of video playback.

A Pro Pen and magnetic Pro Keyboard are available separately, adding support for handwritten notes, sketches and PDF annotations.

Alexa Tablet 11

Designed for entertainment and everyday tasks, this model features an 11-inch 2.5K display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

It comes with an octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM, dual Dolby Atmos speakers and up to 15 hours of video playback. Colour options include Graphite, Amethyst and Matcha.

Alexa Tablet 8

The compact model features an 8.7-inch display and weighs 329 grams. It measures 7.95mm in thickness, supports Wi-Fi 6 and promises up to 14 hours of video playback.

It is available in Graphite, Rosette and Teal, making it the smallest and most portable option in the series.

Alexa+ and Reading Features

Alexa+ is integrated into all three tablets. Users can activate the assistant through voice commands or the Ask Alexa button to ask questions, control compatible smart-home devices and seek assistance with on-screen content when the relevant feature is enabled.

Amazon has also included a dedicated Kindle reading experience. When activated, the feature disables notifications, enables battery optimisation for up to 20 hours of reading and activates display adjustments, including a blue-light filter.

New Amazon Kids Tablets

Amazon has also introduced updated Kids Tablets in 8.7-inch and 11-inch sizes. The bundles include a protective case and a one-year Amazon Kids+ subscription.

Storybuilder allows children to create illustrated stories using their voices, while the redesigned Parent Dashboard provides weekly insights into their activities and learning. Case designs vary by age group, with soft bumper cases for younger children and hard cases with kickstands for older users.
