Bengaluru Govt School Students to Represent India at Robotics Olympics: FIRST Global Challenge 2025

Five students from government schools in Bengaluru have earned global recognition as they prepare to represent India at the FIRST Global Challenge 2025 — widely known as the Robotics Olympics. Their qualification marks a major milestone for STEM innovation rising from public education systems in Karnataka.

The team includes:

  • Ningaraj – Class 11

  • Parashuram M – Class 11

  • Arjun K Raj – Class 11

  • Gourish K – Class 10

  • GN Chandan Raj – Class 9

All are students from Government High School, 18th Cross, Malleswaram, and the nearby Government PU College. Their parents work in modest professions including housekeeping, garment manufacturing, and technician roles.

Innovation Born in Tinkering Labs

Their robotics journey began at the Atal Tinkering Lab, where their interest in technology first grew. Later, they advanced their skills at the Amazon Future Engineer Maker Space Lab, gaining practical mentorship and exposure to advanced tools.

Over six months of coding, designing, and refining — they built a competition-ready robot. The team will compete in Panama from October 29 to November 1, 2025, going head-to-head with teams from nearly 200 countries.

Government Support & Pride

The Department of School Education and Literacy has extended support and appreciation to the team.

Karnataka’s Minister for Primary & Secondary Education, Madhu Bangarappa, praised the students saying their success demonstrates how government-school innovation ecosystems are flourishing.

He noted that with the right opportunities and mentorship, government-school students can confidently compete on global technology platforms.

Robotics Empowering Dreams

For these students, the journey is more than a competition — it’s the beginning of new possibilities.

Their story reflects:

  • Access to emerging tech in public education

  • Growing robotics culture among young innovators

  • A shift toward skill-based, future-ready learning

This achievement shows that brilliance has no financial boundary — the path to global innovation can start from any classroom.

Their next destination? Panama.
Their ultimate mission? Making India a leader in youth robotics.
