BJP Complaint Against Revanth Reddy | BJP Accuses Telangana CM of Anti-Army Remarks

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing him of making “anti-Army” and inflammatory statements during a campaign speech in the Jubilee Hills bye-election.

According to BJP leaders, Revanth Reddy made “derogatory, false, and provocative” comments about the Indian armed forces during his October 31 address. The complaint, submitted on Friday, was led by BJP Floor Leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy, Deputy Floor Leader Payal Shanker, and MLC Dr. C. Anji Reddy.

The BJP claimed that the Chief Minister stated, “Pakistan has kicked at India’s back” and that “India failed to bomb them.” The party described these remarks as “baseless and deeply disrespectful” to soldiers who participated in Operation Sindoor and other counter-terror missions.

Party representatives further alleged that Revanth Reddy accused the BJP of using a “carpet bombing” strategy in Jubilee Hills and suggested that the party should “bomb Pakistan instead.” They also alleged that Reddy called Union Ministers from Telangana “shameless.”

The BJP termed these remarks defamatory, arguing that they were aimed at “inciting hatred and misleading voters.” The complaint also alleged that the Chief Minister tried to “threaten and blackmail voters” by suggesting that key welfare schemes — including Sanna Biyyam (fine rice), 200 units of free electricity, 25,000 new ration cards, and free bus travel for women — would be discontinued if Congress lost the seat.

Calling it a “clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct,” the BJP urged the Election Commission to initiate strict legal action and bar Revanth Reddy from further campaigning in the Jubilee Hills constituency.
