NEET UG 2026 Retest: NTA Uploads OMR Sheets, Opens Challenge Window Till July 15

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the challenge window for candidates who appeared in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, allowing them to verify and challenge their recorded OMR responses online.

The NEET UG re-exam was conducted on June 21, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. Candidates can now log in to the official NEET portal to access the scanned copies of their OMR answer sheets and recorded responses.

The OMR challenge facility will remain available from July 13 to July 15, 2026, until 11:00 am. Candidates wishing to dispute any recorded response must pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per challenged response through online payment modes such as debit card, credit card or net banking.

NTA has clarified that no challenges will be accepted after the deadline or without successful payment of the prescribed fee.

To improve security, the agency has implemented a two-factor authentication (2FA) system using OTP verification for candidate login. In addition to uploading the scanned OMR sheets on the official portal, NTA has also emailed the scanned copies to candidates at their registered email addresses.

The agency has emphasized that the current facility is only for challenging recorded OMR responses. The answer key challenge process has already been completed, and no fresh objections regarding the answer key will be entertained.

Before submitting a challenge, candidates have been advised to carefully compare the scanned OMR sheet with the responses displayed on the portal. According to NTA, only answers correctly darkened using a blue or black ballpoint pen will be considered valid during evaluation.

The agency also warned that marking more than one option for a question will be treated as an invalid response and may attract negative marking wherever applicable. Responses already marked on the OMR sheet cannot be modified later, and overwriting, stray marks or alterations may affect the scanning process.

NTA has further cautioned candidates against submitting manipulated or tampered OMR sheets while raising objections. Such cases may invite action under the agency's unfair means policy, including debarment from future examinations or legal proceedings.

Candidates are advised to complete the OMR response verification process before the deadline and regularly check the official NEET UG website for further updates regarding the examination.
