Oracle is expanding its collaboration with OpenAI to bring artificial intelligence directly into everyday business operations. At its Oracle AI World event in Las Vegas on October 27, the technology company unveiled a new range of tools designed to help organisations automate tasks, develop applications and improve cybersecurity.
The announcements include Oracle AI Workspace, which connects OpenAI models and tools with Oracle’s enterprise software and cloud infrastructure. The initiative aims to make AI more accessible to employees without requiring them to switch constantly between business applications.
Oracle AI Workspace Integrates ChatGPT With Business Apps
Oracle AI Workspace is designed to connect ChatGPT and Codex with enterprise platforms, including Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Fusion Applications and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Employees can use natural-language instructions to retrieve company information, complete approved workflows and perform tasks across connected Oracle systems. For example, finance teams could use the platform to investigate recent expenses or review purchasing decisions without leaving the AI interface.
Oracle says these workflows will operate within existing company approval processes, access controls and data policies. The approach is intended to help businesses adopt AI while retaining oversight of sensitive information and operational decisions.
AI Security Mesh Targets Cybersecurity Risks
Oracle also introduced AI Security Mesh, a managed service designed to identify and address vulnerabilities across corporate networks.
The service uses OpenAI’s cybersecurity models to help detect weaknesses before attackers can exploit them. It is designed to work across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, other cloud platforms and on-premises servers.
According to the announcement, customers will retain control over which parts of their networks can be tested, while Oracle will provide safeguards intended to reduce the risk of testing disrupting business operations.
Codex Powers AI-Assisted Application Development
Another announcement, Oracle App Composer, aims to help employees create internal business applications without extensive coding knowledge.
The tool uses OpenAI’s Codex to generate software, while Oracle handles backend deployment through OCI. It is designed to connect applications with approved company data and support maintainable code through a technology called APEXlang.
The goal is to enable teams to develop tools for everyday business requirements without depending entirely on specialist software developers.
AI Bundle Targets Small Businesses
Oracle also announced an AI SMB Bundle combining ChatGPT Business, Codex, Oracle AI Workspace and NetSuite QuickStart. The package is intended to help smaller companies manage operations such as invoicing and cash flow.
Eligible small businesses could receive up to $12,000 in annual Oracle cloud credits, potentially lowering the initial cost of developing and deploying AI-powered products.
Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk said the collaboration brings OpenAI’s AI capabilities together with Oracle’s enterprise infrastructure. Pricing and release dates for the individual products had not been announced in the supplied report.
