Yogi Adityanath Govt Restores Army Major’s Daughter’s Home in 24 Hours After Land Mafia Complaint

The Uttar Pradesh government has drawn attention for its swift administrative response after restoring the home of an Indian Army Major’s daughter within 24 hours, following allegations of illegal occupation by land mafia elements. The incident, which took place in the Indira Nagar area of Lucknow, highlights the state administration’s zero-tolerance approach towards property-related crimes and document forgery.

The woman, Anjana, daughter of a late Indian Army Major, reportedly approached Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with her complaint, alleging that her residential property had been unlawfully taken over using forged documents. According to officials, the case involved manipulation of land records and impersonation, a method commonly associated with organised land-grabbing networks.

Following her representation, the Chief Minister directed senior police and administrative officials to take immediate action. Acting on these instructions, local police launched an expedited investigation, verified ownership documents, and initiated legal proceedings against the accused. Within hours, the alleged perpetrators—identified as Balwant Kumar Yadav and Manoj Kumar Yadav—were taken into custody for their role in the illegal takeover.

By the next day, authorities confirmed that the house had been restored to Anjana’s possession, marking a rare instance of same-day resolution in a land dispute case. Officials said the rapid action was possible due to clear documentation, coordinated efforts between revenue and police departments, and direct monitoring at the highest level.

The case has also drawn attention to the vulnerabilities faced by individuals dealing with health challenges. Anjana, who is undergoing treatment for schizophrenia, was reportedly living under distress after losing access to her home. State officials said her condition was taken into account while ensuring that due process was followed and her safety and dignity were maintained throughout the operation.

Senior officers stated that the arrests were made under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code related to cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy, and illegal possession of property. Further investigation is underway to determine whether the accused are linked to a larger land-grabbing network operating in urban areas of Uttar Pradesh.

The incident has been widely seen as a message from the state government that land mafia activities, particularly those targeting vulnerable citizens or families of armed forces personnel, will not be tolerated.
