Delhi HC Clears 120 Bahadur Release, Allows OTT Corrections

The Delhi High Court has permitted the release of 120 Bahadur while advising the petitioners challenging the film’s title to first view the movie before seeking any further modifications. The courtroom direction came just a day before the film’s scheduled theatrical release.

A division bench of Justices Pratibha M Singh and Shail Jain observed that altering the title at this stage was not feasible. The petition was filed by the Sanyukt Ahir Regiment Morcha, which claimed that the battle portrayed in the film was fought by Ahir soldiers and sought two changes:

  1. Inclusion of all 120 Ahir soldiers' names in the end credits

  2. Changing the title to 120 Vir Ahir

During the hearing, the petitioners’ counsel expressed readiness to drop the request for renaming the film.

Counsel for producer Excel Entertainment informed the court that the film already includes the names of all 120 Ahir soldiers in the closing credits as a tribute. A screenshot of the credits was submitted before the bench.

Recognising the film’s release timeline, the court sought an “equitable solution” and instructed the petitioners to watch the movie before raising objections regarding the credits. If inaccuracies or omissions are identified, the producers must make the required corrections for the OTT version. The court clarified that any OTT modifications would be limited to names of the Ahir soldiers and correct regiment details.
