Hanuman Ansh Producer Says Bollywood Producers Apologised After Film’s Success

Hanuman Ansh co-producer Anupriya Nagar has said several people in Bollywood who initially declined to support the film later contacted the team after its strong box-office performance. The 21-year-old producer said investors had been hesitant because the project was made on a small budget, featured a first-time director and included relatively new actors.

According to Anupriya, the team struggled to secure investment for post-production despite seeking a relatively small amount. She said only a limited number of people backed the project before its release, while many expected the film to have little impact.

The response reportedly changed after Hanuman Ansh began performing strongly in theatres. Made for less than Rs 2 crore, the film has earned Rs 331.70 crore gross in India, according to figures cited in the report.

Anupriya said several producers who had previously turned down the project later congratulated the team and apologised for not joining the film. Some, she said, acknowledged that its performance demonstrated the potential of small-budget productions and offered to support the team in future projects.

Despite the change in attitude, Anupriya said she did not blame those who initially refused to invest, noting that the film was a small production.

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and starring Shobinaw Satyaa, Hanuman Ansh is inspired by the life of Neem Karoli Baba. The devotional drama explores themes including faith, devotion, compassion and selfless service.
