Actor Raveena Tandon has expressed strong admiration for filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s thriller Dhurandhar, revealing that the film moved her so deeply that she personally called Yami Gautam to apologise — and praise her husband’s work.
The film, released in December 2025, stars Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna and continues to receive appreciation months after its theatrical debut.
Why Raveena Tandon Apologised to Yami Gautam
During a podcast interaction, Tandon shared that she was so impressed by the film that she reached out to Yami Gautam to express her admiration for Aditya Dhar’s direction.
She jokingly apologised, saying she had become a huge fan of Dhar and that Yami would now have to “share” her admiration. The remark reflected how deeply the storytelling and execution resonated with her.
Tandon said the film revived the essence of strong hero-driven storytelling and delivered the emotional satisfaction audiences seek in large-scale cinema.
Praise for Performances and Storytelling
Raveena Tandon praised the film’s performances and direction, describing Dhar as a visionary filmmaker. She also commended the cast for their impactful roles, highlighting the film’s ability to engage audiences through strong characters and compelling narrative.
She further revealed she learned that Ranveer Singh considers himself one of her admirers, a detail she found amusing and heartwarming.
A Film Rooted in Real-World Conflicts
Dhurandhar is set against the turbulent backdrop of Karachi’s Lyari area and explores covert intelligence operations tied to major geopolitical and terror flashpoints in the subcontinent.
The narrative blends espionage, national security themes, and high-stakes action, contributing to its strong reception among audiences and industry professionals alike.
Sequel Set for Major Box Office Clash
Following the film’s success, a sequel titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for release on March 19. The next installment is expected to intensify the storyline and expand the franchise’s scale.
The sequel is anticipated to face stiff box-office competition from Yash’s pan-India project Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, setting up a major theatrical showdown.
Continued Industry Appreciation
The film’s continued recognition from industry peers highlights its impact beyond box-office performance. Tandon’s reaction reflects how the film has resonated within the film fraternity, reinforcing its cultural and cinematic influence.
