Trump Claims 9 Iranian Warships Destroyed Amid Escalating US-Iran Conflict

US President Donald Trump on Sunday claimed that American forces have destroyed and sunk nine Iranian warships as part of ongoing military operations targeting Iran’s naval capabilities.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said US forces were actively working to incapacitate Iran’s Navy. He claimed that nine Iranian naval vessels had already been destroyed and added that further action was underway. He also stated that Iran’s naval headquarters had been heavily damaged in the strikes.

The remarks come amid rapidly escalating military confrontation between the United States and Iran, following joint American-Israeli strikes inside Iranian territory. The operation has intensified tensions across the Middle East, with both sides reporting heavy exchanges.

According to the US Central Command, an Iranian naval corvette was struck during the early phase of the military campaign, reportedly near Iran’s Chabahar Port in the Gulf of Oman. US officials stated that the vessel was severely damaged and sinking following the strike. The broader military campaign has been referred to as Operation Epic Fury by American authorities.

Meanwhile, Iran has launched retaliatory attacks, firing hundreds of missiles and drones across the region. Iranian strikes have reportedly targeted areas in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan as the conflict spreads beyond Iran’s borders.

The US military confirmed that three American service members were killed in combat during the ongoing hostilities, with five others seriously wounded. Officials said American forces remain on high alert across strategic locations in the Gulf region.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed they launched four ballistic missiles toward the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. However, US Central Command stated that the missiles did not come close to the vessel and that the carrier continues normal operations in the region.

The conflict has also seen high-level casualties within Iran’s leadership, with reports stating that senior military and political figures have been targeted in coordinated airstrikes. The broader implications of the conflict have raised global concerns about regional stability, oil supply disruptions and the risk of a prolonged war.

As military actions continue, international observers are closely monitoring developments, with calls for restraint and diplomatic intervention growing louder across global capitals.

The situation remains fluid, with both sides issuing strong statements and preparing for potential further escalation.
