Peshawar Suicide Attack: Twin Blasts Hit Frontier Corps HQ, Multiple Casualties Reported

A major security incident unfolded in Peshawar as twin suicide blasts targeted the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters, marking one of Pakistan's most significant terror attacks in recent months. The coordinated assault, captured on CCTV, involved two suicide bombers who struck in quick succession—first at the main entrance of the FC complex, and then at a motorcycle parking zone inside the premises.

According to early assessments, more than six Frontier Corps personnel are feared dead, with several others injured. The exact number of casualties may rise as security agencies continue their search and rescue efforts inside the heavily guarded installation.

How the Attack Unfolded

Initial reports suggest the first bomber detonated explosives at the main gate of the FC headquarters, attempting to breach the security perimeter. Moments later, the second explosion ripped through the motorcycle stand inside the compound, indicating a well-planned and coordinated operation.

Eyewitnesses and local residents reported hearing intense explosions that echoed 3–4 kilometres away, followed by sporadic gunfire. The blasts caused widespread panic in the surrounding neighbourhoods of the provincial capital.

Security Forces Launch Search Operation

Pakistani security forces immediately sealed off the area, cordoning the entire FC complex and nearby roads. Bomb disposal squads, rapid response teams, and intelligence personnel were deployed to assess the situation. Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage to determine whether additional attackers may have been involved or if there was inside assistance.

Officials have stated that an “on-ground assessment is underway,” with the priority being the evacuation of the injured and securing the blast zone.

A Major Security Breach Amid Rising Militancy

The twin suicide attack is being viewed as a serious security breach at a time when Pakistan continues to grapple with increasing militant activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
