Vidyut Jammwal Plays Damru, Blows Shankh at Lalbaugcha Raja

Vidyut Jammwal celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 with a traditional visit to Mumbai's famous Lalbaugcha Raja pandal. The actor and martial artist offered prayers, participated in the aarti and joined the festivities by playing the damru and blowing a conch shell.

Dressed in a white ethnic outfit, Jammwal first sought darshan of Lord Ganesha before actively taking part in the rituals. Videos from his visit showed him playing the traditional instrument and blowing the shankh as devotees gathered around the pandal.

His participation drew attention because the actor went beyond a customary darshan and became involved in the celebrations. Lalbaugcha Raja is one of Mumbai's most prominent Ganesh idols and attracts lakhs of devotees during the 10-day Ganeshotsav festivities.

The Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal is celebrating its 93rd year in 2026, with celebrations beginning on September 14. This year's pandal has a Mahadev-themed mandap inspired by the Mahakaleshwar Temple.

On the professional front, Jammwal is preparing for his Hollywood debut with Street Fighter, in which he plays the iconic yoga master Dhalsim. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film is based on the popular video game franchise and features Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Jason Momoa as Blanka and Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson as Balrog. Street Fighter is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, 2026.
