Kannada actor-director Rishab Shetty’s latest film, Kantara: Chapter 1, is making waves, earning high praise from industry stalwarts Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Prabhas shared the poster on his Instagram Stories, calling it “a brilliant film with outstanding performances from everyone” and declaring it the “biggest blockbuster of the year.” He congratulated Shetty, Vijay Kiragandur, and Hombale Films for the achievement.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for Animal and Arjun Reddy, lauded the film as a “cinematic thunderstorm, raw, divine, and unshakable,” highlighting Shetty’s “one-man show” performance. He also applauded composer Ajaneesh Loknath for the impactful background score.
Produced by Hombale Films, the period mythological drama also features Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah. The film’s cinematography is by Arvind S Kashyap, and editing by Suresh Mallaiah.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 film of the same name, continuing Rishab Shetty’s exploration of mythological and period storytelling in Indian cinema.
The director thanked Sandeep Vanga for his praise, emphasizing the film’s growing acclaim among audiences and critics alike.
