Shah Rukh Khan Launches First Property Named After Him: Shahrukhz Danube Unveiled in Mumbai

Shah Rukh Khan made a rare public appearance in Mumbai on Friday as he officially launched the first-ever real estate project to bear his name. The Dubai-based tower, Shahrukhz Danube, is a 56-storey commercial property featuring premium office spaces of around 450 sq ft each.

The megastar said the moment held deep emotional value for him. “My mother would have been very happy. It is a very big honour,” he said on stage, adding that he looked forward to showing the property to his children: “I will tell them—‘Papa ka naam likha hai, Papa ki building hai’.”

The event was attended by Danube Group founder Rizwan Sajan, with whom Shah Rukh shares a long-standing association. As expected from an evening featuring the Bollywood icon, the launch was filled with humour, nostalgia and trademark SRK charm.

Shah Rukh recreated popular scenes from Om Shanti Om and Don, delivered fan-favourite dialogues and even teased that he had become “Eid ka chand… kam dikhta hoon, but jab dikhta hoon, kamaal hota hai.”

Farah Khan joined him on stage, remarking that Shah Rukh rarely uses his name for anything outside cinema. “He has given his name only to four people—Gauri, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam,” she joked, drawing loud applause.

The actor also revealed the emotional reason behind accepting the naming proposal. He said Rizwan Sajan had shared details about his wife’s health, which moved him. “If I could be a part of something that inspires people who come to big cities to build their homes and dreams, that would be my greatest gift,” he said.

Shahrukhz Danube is expected to be completed in three to four years. The tower will include premium amenities such as a helipad, swimming pool and a statue of Shah Rukh Khan at the entrance for visitors to click photos with. The developers plan to extend this tower concept to other global cities as well.

On the work front, Shah Rukh is gearing up for Siddharth Anand’s ‘King’, which stars Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhay Verma and Abhishek Bachchan. Meanwhile, his production house Red Chillies Entertainment recently backed the Netflix series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, marking Aryan Khan’s directorial debut.
