GV Prakash Reunites With Ajith Kumar for Motor Sports Documentary

Composer GV Prakash Kumar has confirmed his reunion with actor Ajith Kumar, this time for a documentary that chronicles Ajith’s journey and achievements in motor sports. GV Prakash will compose the background score and original music for the project, marking another collaboration between the two after their recent work together.

The documentary is directed by AL Vijay and focuses on Ajith Kumar’s passion for racing, offering an inside look into his dedication, discipline and experiences on the track. The film is expected to showcase rarely seen moments from Ajith’s racing career, highlighting both the emotional and physical demands of the sport.

Sharing his excitement on social media, GV Prakash expressed his enthusiasm about working with Ajith again and hinted at a powerful mix of music and background scores for the documentary. He also shared glimpses from the ongoing work, including visuals of Ajith featured in the film.

A video from the documentary reveals Ajith’s preparation for the Asian Le Mans Series, where he competed alongside India’s first Formula One driver, Narain Karthikeyan. During the race, Ajith was forced to retire early after his car suffered damage. Reflecting on the setback, he acknowledged the disappointment while maintaining a resilient outlook, stressing that every race brings a new opportunity.

The documentary opens with Ajith’s voice-over, setting an introspective tone as he reflects on the unseen struggles behind success. In the teaser, he speaks candidly about the risks involved in racing, pointing out that unlike films, racing offers no retakes and that a single mistake can have serious consequences not just for the driver, but for others on the track as well.

This project marks another milestone in the long-standing association between GV Prakash and Ajith Kumar, which began with Kireedam in 2007 and continued with Good Bad Ugly earlier this year. The documentary aims to present an honest and unfiltered portrayal of Ajith’s life beyond cinema.

While there is speculation that the documentary could release around May 2026, coinciding with Ajith Kumar’s birthday, the makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding its release date.
