Sara Ali Khan–Orry Fallout Explained: How Their Friendship Began and Why It’s Unravelling

The once-visible friendship between actor Sara Ali Khan and social media personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has reportedly hit a rough patch, with a string of social media interactions fuelling speculation of a fallout. What began as a close association within Bollywood’s younger social circle has now become the subject of online scrutiny amid accusations of insensitivity, personal jibes and influencer overreach.

Sara and Orry were frequently seen together at high-profile parties, film screenings and celebrity gatherings over the past few years. Orry, known for his proximity to star kids and public figures, often appeared alongside Sara and her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan, reinforcing the perception of a tight-knit friendship. Their bond was largely viewed as casual, friendly and part of a larger social ecosystem that thrives both offline and online.

The strain reportedly began after Orry posted a now-deleted social media reel referencing “three worst names,” which many interpreted as targeting Sara, her mother Amrita Singh, and actor Palak Tiwari. The video triggered swift backlash, with users criticising the tone and questioning the intent behind the post. Although the reel was removed, screenshots and reactions continued to circulate, amplifying the controversy.

Shortly thereafter, Sara and Ibrahim unfollowed Orry on Instagram, a move that did little to escape public notice. When questioned by a follower about the unfollowing, Orry replied that he had unfollowed them “long ago,” suggesting a longer-standing rift. This response added to speculation that the relationship had been deteriorating behind the scenes before becoming public.

The situation escalated further after Orry replied to a comment mentioning Amrita Singh with a remark widely perceived as dismissive. The response drew criticism from users who felt it crossed a personal boundary and reflected poorly on influencer conduct, particularly when referencing family members of public figures.

Another flashpoint emerged when Orry posted a reel inspired by a viral civic-sense video. While the clip itself attracted attention, it was a comment reply that drew sharper reactions. Responding to a question about his outfit, Orry referenced Sara Ali Khan’s film career in a sarcastic manner. The comment was widely interpreted as a direct dig and reignited debate around respect, relevance and online behaviour.

Amid the growing chatter, Sara shared a cryptic Instagram Story featuring a song about living freely and avoiding unnecessary noise. While she did not directly address the issue, the timing of the post led many to view it as an indirect response to the controversy.

Online reaction has largely been critical of Orry’s remarks, with several users labelling the behaviour as bullying and attention-seeking. Discussions across social platforms have highlighted the fine line between humour and personal attacks, particularly for influencers whose visibility depends heavily on engagement.

The fallout also appears connected to an older disagreement involving Palak Tiwari, when alleged private messages between her and Orry surfaced online. That episode had already hinted at unresolved tensions within the same social circle, suggesting that recent events may be an extension of deeper fractures rather than an isolated incident.

As of now, neither Sara Ali Khan nor Orry has issued a formal statement clarifying their relationship status. The episode, however, has once again underlined how personal dynamics in celebrity circles can quickly become public narratives in the age of social media.
